Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia turns 57 years of age today.

The Veep has become a social media sensation recently after some photos of him popped up showing him with Ghana’s biggest potbelly.

Bawumia came into office alongside Nana Addo in 2017 as a typical middle aged guy with a little fat around the middle, but in almost four years of power his tummy has grown to epic proportions.

In Ghana, everyone knows the size of your body is directly proportional to the size of your wallet. People start becoming balloons immediately they start becoming rich – it’s the law.

Our politicians in particular are very good at this – they always look skinny in opposition and fat in government.

When Ghanaians noticed his gargantuan belly, Bawumia came out to address it. According to him, it’s because he’s so busy working for us that he eats late most of the time.

You see, that belly is due to working hard to make life better for Ghanaians and nothing to do with the comfortable life he can now enjoy at the taxpayer’s expense.

Either way, he’s our Vice President and today is his birthday so let’s all wish him a happy birthday.
