The American football defensive end entered Cornell University in 2019 and began his collegiate career as a safety.
Hunt made three tackles in seven games while playing special teams and as a reserve safety. He made his college debut on special teams against Georgetown.
In the same way, Jalyx saw his first action at safety in the victory over Brown, making two stops on a special teams tackle versus Colgate.
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic halted the gaming season in 2020. Therefore, he had to stay away from action for one full year. However, the football season returned with a bang in 2021, as did Jalyx.
The vibrant prodigy participated in all ten games and was credited with 26 tackles, a pass breakup, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick.
In the season opener against VMI, Hunt recorded a career-high six stops and had four tackles versus Yale. Additionally, he had two tackles against Harvard while recovering a fumble and breaking up a pass.

Jalyx transferred to Houston Christian University in 2022 and began playing as a defensive end and linebacker for the Houston Christian Huskies.
In his debut season at HCU, Hunt started all 11 games and was selected to play on the Southland Conference’s second team.

Hunt completed his two-year stay at Houston Christian with 133 tackles, 20.5 tackles-for-loss, and 13.5 sacks. He was selected as the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year and an All-American upon his return in 2023.

Jalyx Hunt football career is going in a successful direction as he completed his collegiate journey with a bang. For instance, he was invited to the legendary Senior Bowl in 2024.
In doing so, the Florida native was one of only four FCS players to earn an invitation that year and became the first player from his school ever to receive the accolade.
